From its humble beginnings in a tin shed on a working dairy farm in 1999, The Margaret River Chocolate Company has grown to become a Western Australian tourism icon.
Its commitment to quality and innovation has won a legion of fans across Australia and around the world, as well as generations of Western Australians who have grown up with “the chocolate factory”.
The Margaret River Chocolate Company is consistently the most highly awarded chocolate company at the annual Perth Royal Food Awards and has been featured in hundreds of local, national and international media articles, television series and on-line features.
The company opened its second factory in the Swan Valley wine region in Perth in 2000 and later a retail store in Perth city and an online store.
Australia’s then Prime Minister John Howard referred to The Margaret River Chocolate Company as a gold medal business, when he officially opened the Swan Valley factory in 2001.
Since then the company has won countless awards and was the only privately-owned business recognised as a West Australian Icon in a special edition of the internationally best-selling board game, Monopoly.
